Winter Solstice at Fed Square Throughout the Years

The much-loved tradition of the Solstice celebration falls on the Saturday night closest to the winter equinox, marking the longest night of the year, and the journey towards spring.

We have been celebrating the Solstice here at Fed Square since 2007 and have continued this tradition each year in collaboration with the Refugee Council of Australia.

This year’s Solstice falls on June 24 and will be a feast of live music, including performances by Dan Sultan, Robot Child and more, along with roving entertainers, interactive light installations and a unique bazaar with arts, craft and delicious food.
